Centre for Study of Autism & Christian Community Logo

I was asked to create a logo for the Centre for the Study of Autism and Christian Community, which is part of the Divinity School of Aberdeen University.
The Client and I discussed that the core themes represented by the logo should be Christian faith, positive reflections on autism, community, and the centre itself.

I designed a series of logo options which the client chose from, each representing all the core themes of the centre. I took inspiration from the shapes seen in the divinity centre building - stained glass and rose windows, the arches of the doors and the lamps from inside the divinity library - creating imagery made up of strong shapes which fit together, representing how community is made up of many kinds of individuals who all fit together to create a whole.
The client requested that the two final options chosen lean more heavily into imagery which represents how unique individuals in the community come together to create a whole.

Taking this into consideration, I designed the options below, from which the client chose.
I put together several colour options for both of the final designs chosen, giving options incorporating the university colours to keep continuity within the branding, as well as options out with the university colours to distinguish the centre from the university.

After reviewing these options, the client made their decision on the final logo and colour options.
I gave the client the option of coloured line art to compliment and brighten up the colours of the logo as well as adding contrast. From these final options, the final logo was chosen.
Here is the final logo as chosen by the client. This logo is now live on the centre's section of the Aberdeen University website.
